finalised with a Namibian legal advisor and aligned with Namibia's data-protection requirements.
BE Logistics ("we", "us") is operated by Black Ember Trading CC in Namibia. This policy explains
what personal information we collect through the BE Logistics website and app at blackember.net, how we use
it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: sales@blackember.net.
Information we collect
- Account & contact details — your name, email address, phone number and a user ID, provided when you register and verify your account.
- Business & verification details — company/trading information, and permit or document files you upload (for example harvest and market permits) and product photos you add to listings.
- Loads & listings — details you enter about loads and marketplace adverts, such as routes, cargo, prices and pickup areas.
- Messages — enquiries, leads and in-app messages you exchange with other users.
- Location (optional) — if you are a driver/carrier and choose to turn on live location sharing for a load, we collect your device's precise GPS location while sharing is on, so the shipper can follow the load's progress. This is off unless you enable it, and you can turn it off at any time.
- Notifications — if you enable push notifications we store a device push token; if you connect Telegram we store the identifier needed to send your alerts.
- Technical data — standard server logs (such as IP address) needed to run and secure the service.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use your information
- To operate the platform — create your account, post and match loads, run the marketplace, and process our credit and match fees.
- To verify users and listings and keep the platform trustworthy.
- To send the service messages and alerts you've enabled (email, push, Telegram).
- To show a load's progress to the relevant shipper when a driver chooses to share location.
- To secure the service and prevent fraud and abuse.
How we share your information
- With other users, to do business — a driver's shared live location is shown to the shipper of that load; contact details may be shared between counterparties to arrange a load; your listings are visible to other users on the marketplace.
- With service providers that help us run the platform — our hosting provider and our email-delivery and messaging providers (for verification and notification messages). They process data on our behalf.
- Payments are settled directly between users (for example EFT, PayToday or eWallet). We do not collect your bank or card details and charge only a platform match fee.
- We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
- We may disclose information where required by law.
Data retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed for our
legitimate business and legal purposes. Driver location trails are kept only briefly — they are
automatically deleted 30 days after a load is delivered, and in any case within a 60-day cap.
Your choices & rights
- You can view and correct your account details in the app.
- You can turn location sharing, push notifications and Telegram alerts on or off at any time.
- You can request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and associated personal data, by emailing sales@blackember.net.
Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). No
method is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
Children
BE Logistics is a business tool intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.
Where we operate
We operate from Namibia and align our practices with Namibian data-protection requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
